- Assess LOC FIRST !!
- Examining the client for injuries is a secondary assessment as their immediate concern is their overall stability. 
For a client found down on the ground, the nurse should immediately implement basic life support measures, including initially assessing the client’s level of consciousness. If the client is unconscious, the nurse should stay with the client and shout for help.
According to the BLS algorithm, the client’s level of consciousness should be prioritized over the assessment of the carotid pulse.
