Rule #1. Aspirate for blood return prior to medication administration.

Rule #2. Large Gage 20 inch Catheter.

Rule #3. Access the port using sterile technique.
- Not Daily
- due to infection

Rule 4. wear a mask during the dressing change
- due to infection

Rule #3. Flush the port with heparin prior to de-access.
